What/who are the bots that use this site?

What/who are the bots that use this site?

I've noticed in the logged in users at the bottom of the site it always has random bots listed, usually from google and bing but sometimes with other random names. What do they do? Why are they here?

They're almost always web crawlers/spiders -- bots that basically go into a website and take an index of every single link in the site so that they can be displayed on search engines such as Google. Since forums are (by design, even if not in actuality) frequently updated, bots are a frequent sight so that they can index new threads and posts.
I'm more easily reached at classpectanon#4228 on Discord. I will respond to reports faster there because PHPBB's notification system is borked and doesn't email me when you report things.
