I'm almost certain I've read somewhere that trolls don't really have differentiation between biological sexes? That they have both a nook and a bulge, and only some have breasts (for reasons unknown since they obviously don't produce milk). Maybe that was a headcanon I read somewhere but I've always been under the assumption that trolls are biologically agender but choose to present in one way or another. It makes sense that they'd all at least have bulges considering every troll mature enough to mate must provide genetic material for the Slurry, and since I'd assume they don't have uteruses (because they don't produce their own offspring) a humanoid vagina would be functionally useless for that task- there are no eggs to produce, and vaginal secretions don't provide any sort of genetic material in the same way sperm does.

That is most certainly headcanon. There is certainly a way that Trolls differ by gender, hence females having mammary mounds.

The slurry doesn't seem like a natural part of troll reproduction- there's no way this species was born to have robots beat them up unless they splooge into a bucket, likely that's just a way to control the population. Also, John and Terezi do it in the Epilogues, which could imply some form of analogous parts.
