I think there might be a little too much weight to the whole "Hussie said it's canon so it's canon" deal, considering in the past he has claimed a variety of things as being canon, including (but not limited to) John and Problem Sleuth meeting up to read Hunk Rump magazine together.

June is a wonderful headcanon that I think deserves a place in the community, but I don't think we should go balls wild with canon this canon that until we actually see June represented in a piece of canon work, rather than just a Rowling-esque attachment to the footnotes

So when Hussie's "Find a Broberlone, Make a Wish" event happened, one of the people who found the Tolberone decided that they wanted to make June canon. Hussie obliged, but it's unclear at present if it's a "48 Squiddles/Fatska" canon or not

I dunno if it was particularly "trans-coded," but it was certainly "identity issues"-coded, which I think is a distinction a lot of people tend to blur the lines on :/
